Our 1 Year Anniversary Celebrations

One year ago, we held our very first Skate Jam and Empowr CIC was born. On 6th February 2023, we marked that milestone the only way we know how: by bringing the community together to skate.

The Celebration

The anniversary event was free to attend — because that's who we are. We brought in a live DJ to set the tone, and the energy in the room was everything the occasion deserved.

To commemorate the year, we released a limited-edition anniversary skating collection. Each piece is a memento of the journey so far — a year of sessions, partnerships, community events, and everything in between.

One Year of Empowr

In our first year, we:

• Launched weekly Skate Jams, roller skating lessons, and Kidzspace sessions
• Ran a free 12-week Street Skate Support Group attracting 50+ skaters per week
• Hosted a Jubilee Family Funday attended by 400+ community members
• Secured our first school partnership with Ivydale Primary School
• Established a community ICT room and coding club in Newcross

Year one was proof that the idea worked. Year two is about going further.
